Pumping for later

In a few months, Mommy will be going to school, so I won't be able to nurse you every time you're hungry. When you get hungry, Daddy will feed you bottles of the same milk you get out of my breasts. I have a machine to get the milk out. It doesnt work as well as you do, so I'm starting to pump the milk out and I put it in the freezer to save for later. I hope my the time school starts, I will have plenty in the freezer. Usually you will sit and watch mommy while the machine works, we talk about our day or I read you books.

Daddy's Day Gift

we gave Daddy his gift late the night before Father's Day, we couldnt wait any longer to give it to him!

first he opened the card, and this is what he saw:

then he opened the gift, he didnt know what it was!

you werent going to tell him!

he was very happy to finally have a mousepad for his computer!

Our princess is the Pea.

Tonight, I had to change the sheets. I think I have learned though that giggly smiles first thing in the morning often means you're going to spit up. I took part of one sheet off and put part of the next one on, then I laid you down while I stripped the rest. you grabbed the sheet and tried to hide under it. We would have an awfully lumpy bed if we made it with a baby under the sheet!

4 months old!

We took these pictures today while we waited for the nurse to give you your shots. you were wearing your ducky hat, so we put your ducky diaper one too. Today, you were 25 1/2 inches long and 13lbs. Dr Hyndman was very happy with how you've developed. She liked how strong your neck and arms are for tummytime and legs when trying to stand on mommy's lap. Also, she got to hear you making lots of sounds as you talked to her. Afterwards mommy changed you and you were laughing so hard! The nurse came in and said she felt bad that the shots would hurt and ruin your good mood. Mommy and daddy snuggled close and tried our best to help you feel better.

Happy Giraffe

Aunt Sarah loves giraffes and loves you even more, imagine how much she loves you in a giraffe suit?!! You seemed to love it even more.

Oh Deer!

During your nap, daddy saw this little fella hanging out in the neighbor's yard, right next to our fence. Mommy crept up close to get some pictures. When I got closer, he tried hiding down in the grass. I hope as you grow up out here in the country, you get to enjoy nature, and see lots of animals.
Mommy and Daddy love living out here with you.

Aunt Brina

Usually, an Aunt is your mom or dad's sister, or, sister-in-law. But in our family we know that being an aunt means more than that, Mommy & Daddy's cousins love you the way Aunts (and uncles) love you. So we get to call them Aunt (& Uncle) too.
Aunt Sabrina is very cool, Mommy has had lots of fun with Aunt Brina and I'm sure you will too!

Great Aunt Great Aunt Sally

She is pretty great. And pretty Aunty. And a Pretty Aunt!

Great Aunt Sally is Grammie's sister. She was also married to Grandma's brother Ronnie. So she was Daddy's Aunt and she is Mommy's Aunt! So she gets to love you doubly! When Daddy was inside Granma's tummy, Aunt Sally had Uncle Jason in her tummy! Grandma and Sally were friends and lived together, I heard stories about Grandma and Aunt Sally when you were in my tummy. Pretty cool!

Nose Picker

You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends' noses.

Hang Tight

On our way home tonight, you were holding tight to Daddy's finger so Mommy had to fix your binkers and you grabbed Mommy's thumb too. Absolutely perfect you are.
We love you!

Scooting?

You were trying very hard to roll over on the floor this morning. You managed to scoot yourself off to the side a bit. You had began in the center of the rainbow on the blanket. Before long, you will be rolling. Take your time Punkin, no rush.

So so happy!

It brightens my day when I look at you, and then you smile and it melts my heart.
You are always so happy and smile soooo much. And when I hear you laugh! oh goodness I fall more and more in love.

I try not to compare you to other babies, but I notice you smile, coo, and laugh more than I've seen others do the same.

I'm proud to know you feel the love we all have for you, and security that you're taken care of. You have the most infectious smile. You're entire face smiles.

Tonight, you must have been especially happy, you had fallen asleep and had even stopped sucking on your binkers, out of nowhere, you laughed! Just a short haha but you hadn't made another sound and hadn't even squirmed. I loved it! I love everything about you and being your mommy. Thank you thank you for being our Ellie.

Aunt Lenna

Aunt Lenna always makes you smile. She's always going to be the cool aunt since she's only 11 years older than you. In a few years she can babysit you and make lots of great memories together.

Uncle Rex

You sure love great uncle Rex. And gosh does he love you. He always makes you smile. After he held you and played with you he held Baby Jackson, and you actually seemed jealous. It's not the first time you got upset when you left Rex's arms.

Skin to skin

It's good for both of us when we have skin to skin contact. We snuggled skin to skin right when you were born and often since.
While you were sleeping tonight you woke up slightly. Moving your hand into my shirt to feel my skin helped you fall back to sleep. I feel so close to you when you sleep in my arms.
