Hand Foot Mouth
We figured out why you were sick. You got some blisters on your mouth after you had a fever so Mommy looked it up and found out its called "hand foot mouth disease" it's a virus that causes kids to get blisters on hands feet mouths and sometimes bottoms. You only got them on and in your mouth. They make it hard to eat, and even hard to nurse. You're doing ok though, we are doing lots of snuggling and trying our best to nurse. Mommy has been using a syringe to get water in your mouth to swallow, it hurts your mouth to drink from your cups or straws. Mommy pumped some milk since you couldn't open your mouth much on one side. I fed the pumped milk to you by dropping some in to your mouth with a straw. You fell right to sleep. You haven't wanted your binky lately because of the sores, I think it might be a good time to try to stop using it. Some kids have a hard time letting go of it when they're older, it might be easier to let go of it now, since you don't want it anyway. I like that you have a tool to help you sleep and relax when you don't want to or cannot nurse, so we will see.
