You were upset a bit before bed so we went outside to look for stars. We couldn't find any! Your idea was that they were behind the trees. A summertime storm was rolling in and there were clouds in the sky, and it was still a bit early to see stars. You asked to read your "twinkle twinkle star book" which isn't actually about stars at all. It's "Girl Of Mine" about a little girl and her daddy who sings to her at bedtime. There are stars in the picture and the song mentions the dark sky.
We read the book a couple times and sang a new version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
